1. a reptile with dry, scaly skin. Lizards have long bodies, a long tail, and movable eyelids. They usually have four legs. Some lizards have no legs and look much like snakes. The iguana, chameleon, horned toad, and glass snake are lizards.
2. any of certain similar reptiles, especially of large size, such as the crocodiles and dinosaurs.
